Thermal cautery Unit - TCU™
“Coagulation without the Zap“.
For almost a century, Geiger has provided physicians with reliable and durable
cautery equipment.
The Geiger TCU is ideal for applications such as dermatological,
ophthalmologic, ENT, plastic surgery cases, urology, podiatry, or any procedure
that requires accurate hemostasis. The autoclavable handpiece with six-foot
cord accepts an assortment of thermal cautery electrodes. Unlike Electrosurgery
the thermal cautery utilizes direct heat, eliminating the possibility of
aberrant radio frequency currents which can cause unintended tissue damage,
shocking, or interference with pacemakers, defibrillators, and monitoring
equipment.
Unlike disposable battery powered cauteries, the TCU maintains the desired
temperature during tissue contact and does not rapidly diminish.

Thermalite Disposable Cautery Electrodes
Thermalites have the quality of reusable with the
convenience of disposable. Hollow brass shanks on these electrodes allow the
tips to heat up faster than the reusable TCU tips.
