Vet-Dop Animal Ultrasonic Doppler Blood Pressure System
The Vet-Dop is designed to screen for hypertension, to check blood
pressure in surgery, to monitor peripheral profusion in surgery and to check for
intact blood vessels after trauma and before amputation. This non-invasive
Doppler is the method of choice for measuring blood pressure in animals
weighing less than 15 pounds, and will work well on rats with the optional
rodent-tail transducer probe. Other methods, including monitors that use the
oscillometric technique, are not capable of detecting the smaller vessels with
accurate results. The Vet-Dop also works well on cats and larger breeds, and can
detect blood flow at the base of the tail in horses, The Vet-Dop is the
Doppler of choice and preferred by experts in the field of small animal blood
pressure measurement.

or thumb while steadying the limb with the same hand, or may be secured to the
limb or tail using one of the Velcro straps provided (Tail placement only for

Non-Invasive Dopplers
- for Vascular Diagnostics
The Mini-Doppler is an economical means to assess blood flow and heart function
non-invasively in small animals. Studies have shown that probes, correctly positioned,
can be used to monitor mitral valve, aortic, arterial and venous blood velocities, even
in mice, non-invasively. For example, when coupled with the ECG signal in a data
acquisition system, left ventricular inflow and outflow velocities can be monitored.
Mitral valve and aortic blood velocity give indications of pre-ejection time, ejection
time, ejection acceleration, time to peak acceleration, stroke distance and heart rate.
Pulse wave velocity can be accessed monitoring two distant points along an artery and
gives an indication of arterial wall compliance and stiffness that may occur in diseases
such as atherosclerosis, hypertension, or response to drug therapy.
The HD-307 is a bi-directional doppler to monitor forward and reverse blood flow
velocity. The HD-307 design uses a single frequency for optimal performance in low flow
states. It has a simple, one button operation, is battery operated and portable. As with
the Mini-Doppler, it includes a recorder output for monitoring and an audio output. The
HD-307 includes a 2mm dia.bayonet probe in either 10 or 20 MHz. Catheter style probes are
optional and can be specially ordered.
